Signing day is over. All but a handful of the top prospects have put their John Hancocks on a letter of intent. What is an obsessive recruiting fan to do now?
Why, look ahead to the Class of 2013, of course. And ESPN.com is already all over the next batch of recruits for us to breathlessly follow.
RecruitingNation has its early list of the top 100 prospects in the '13 class. One of the five-star prospects, quarterback Shane Morris, is already committed to Michigan. (You can read all about him here). Four-star safety Dymonte Thomas has committed to Brady Hoke, too.
Some other top prospects from Big Ten country who are sure to be hotly pursued by league schools for the next year:
Adam Breneman, a five-star tight end from Camp Hill, Pa.;
Ethan Pocic, a five-star offensive tackle from Lemont, Ill.;
Aaron Bailey, a four-star quarterback from Bolingbrook, Ill.;
Kyle Bosch, four-star offensive lineman from Wheaton, Ill.;
Cameron Dillard, a four-star offensive lineman from Canton, Mich.;
Ty Isaac, a four-star running back from Joliet, Ill.;
Tim Kimbrough, a four-star linebacker from Indianapolis;
Patrick Kugler, a four-star offensive tackle from Wexford, Pa.;
Billy Price, a four-star tackle from Youngstown, Ohio;
Jaylon Smith, a four-star outside linebacker from Fort Wayne, Ind.
It looks like a strong year for talent in Illinois, so it will be interesting to see how new Illinois coach Tim Beckman and his staff do in in-state recruiting. Go ahead and start obsessing over these guys. Just remember to not get too caught up in early commitments, as we've seen how those can mean very little a few months later.
