As Wisconsin players walk up the tunnel leading from their locker room, they see a sign overhead that reads "The Road to the Rose Bowl begins here." It's the last thing players see before walking under the stands and through a separate tunnel into Camp Randall Stadium.
Given Wisconsin's Rose Bowl success in the past two decades -- the Badgers have made five Rose Bowl appearances since 1993 -- the sign has special significance. Wisconsin's resurgence has been built on Rose Bowl appearances. Although coach Bret Bielema preaches a "1-0" approach to every game, the sign reinforces the Badgers' ultimate goals -- to win the Big Ten Conference and advance to Pasadena, Calif., for the Granddaddy of Them All.
