There had been some debate as to whether Purdue and Notre Dame would continue to meet every season in the future. After all, Notre Dame and Michigan State recently revised their annual series, taking breaks in 2014-15 and 2020-21.
You can mark it your calendars: Boilers-Irish every year until at least 2021.
The two schools today announced the scheduling agreement, which will feature annual meetings with no breaks until 2021. Purdue and Notre Dame have met every year since 1946 (64 consecutive games).
"Purdue and Notre Dame is one of the great matchups in college football," Purdue athletic director Morgan Burke said in a prepared statement. "As an independent, Notre Dame is faced with many scheduling challenges, and I thank [athletic director] Jack Swarbrick for his efforts in ensuring the series will continue."
