Speed is Michigan's calling card on offense this season, and Penn State's heralded defense must find ways to slow down all of the Wolverines' ball carriers, starting with the quarterback.
Tate Forcier's best moments this season have come on the move, as the freshman has avoided defenders to find running room or a space to attack down the field. When forced to be conventional, Forcier typically struggles. He needs to freelance and improvise to be successful.
So it's no surprise that ESPN Stats & Information came up with this little gem about Forcier this season.
Forcier isn't the only quarterback looking to make plays outside of the pocket Saturday at Michigan Stadium (ABC, 3:30 p.m. ET). Though Penn State's Daryll Clark hasn't been quite as willing to leave the pocket this season as he was in 2008, the Lions senior is having some success on the outside.
Another tip of the cap to ESPN Stats & Information.
