CO-OFFENSE -- Michigan State QB Kirk Cousins and Purdue QB Joey Elliott
The sophomore was nearly flawless against Western Michigan, completing 22 of 25 passes for a career high 353 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. Cousins' pass yards total marked the seventh best in team history.
Elliott led Purdue to its first win at Michigan since 1966 by passing for a career high 367 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown to put the Boilers up 38-30 in the fourth quarter. Elliott became only the third Purdue quarterback to eclipse 300 pass yards against Michigan.
DEFENSE -- Illinois DE Clay Nurse
Nurse recorded a career high four sacks in the win against Minnesota. It marked the second-highest single-game total in team history behind Simeon Rice's five sacks in 1994. Honorable mention goes to Ohio State defensive end Cam Heyward.
SPECIAL TEAMS -- Ohio State WR Ray Small
Small again showed why he's one of the Big Ten's best weapons, racking up 130 yards on seven punt returns (18.6-yard average). He set up Ohio State's first touchdown with a 41-yard run-back and added a 45-yarder at the end of the third quarter that led to another score.
