Michigan State may go into its bowl game without a healthy Johnny Adams.

The All-Big Ten cornerback has been limited in practice by a case of turf toe, Joe Rexrode reports in the Detroit Free Press. Adams is still expected to play in Saturday's Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl against TCU but may not be at full strength. The senior was expected to attempt a heavier practice session on Wednesday.

Adams was limited today in MSU’s practice in Tempe, Ariz., MSU associate athletic director John Lewandowski confirmed, though Adams is expected to play.

Maybe even more than most teams, the Spartans rely a great deal on their corners, who play a lot of man-to-man press coverage so the defense can blitz from lots of angles. Adams also occasionally is used by defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi on corner blitzes.

Adams and fellow starting cornerback Darqueze Dennard will be counted on to slow down TCU's receivers, who are led by Josh Boyce (61 catches for 800 yards and seven touchdowns this season) and Brandon Carter (34 for 579 and six).

Adams has had a great career. Here's hoping he'll be able to give his best effort in his final college game.
