As expected, Ohio State running back Jordan Hall was granted a medical redshirt and will return for his fifth and final season with the Buckeyes next season, the school announced on Thursday.

Hall's 2012 season was limited by two injuries. He stepped on some broken glass during the summer and missed the first two games after surgery. He later tore the PCL in his right knee during practice leading up to the Oct. 6 Nebraska game. He finished the season with 218 yards on 40 carries and three catches for 31 yards. His biggest game came against Cal, when he ran for 105 yards on 17 carries.

Head coach Urban Meyer had said in the preseason that Hall could have been his Percy Harvin type: a speedy, do-it-all offensive weapon that made Meyer's spread system go. Instead, Hall never really got going in 2012. He'll be back in 2013, and though Carlos Hyde has established himself as the main running back, Hall's quickness and versatility could add a much needed weapon to the Buckeyes' attack.
