The march of preseason watch lists comes to a close -- sniff -- today. The final major award to release its list is the Walter Camp Football Foundation, which names a national player of the year. Six Big Ten players made the list of 50 announced on Friday. They are:
Ameer Abdullah, RB, Nebraska
Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
Venric Mark, RB, Northwestern
Taylor Martinez, QB, Nebraska
Braxton Miller, QB, Ohio State
Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State
That's a pretty good list of some of the Big Ten's biggest stars in 2013. Lewan and Miller made the Walter Camp All-America teams last season, while Mark and Roby made other All-America teams. There are other players who could make a run at national player of the year awards -- Penn State receiver Allen Robinson comes to mind -- but it's hard to argue too much with the selections.
And with that, the watch list parade comes to an end. You can view a complete list of the award nominees here.
