Penn State head coach Joe Paterno didn't reveal much about the prognosis for his right leg/hip injury after visiting the doctor this week. The 81-year-old coach on his radio show Thursday night said that the ailment will be fixed, either immediately following the season or sometime thereafter. He didn't specify if he needed surgery or what the problem is with his leg and hip.
Paterno has spent the last four games in the press box because of the injury.
"What I have is not something that can't be fixed," Paterno said. "And it's going to be fixed. When we're going to do it, I'm not sure yet right now. ... Whether we do it right after the season's over or whether we wait a little bit, I don't know. All I know is that I want to get on that road and recruit a little bit. We're not going to let this thing interfere with my doing the job I have to do for this football team and for this football program and a great coaching staff."
Again, it sounds like Paterno fully intends on coming back for a 44th season at Penn State.
