Penn State's Odrick shines at Senior Bowl

I have little doubt that Penn State defensive tackle Jared Odrick will be a first-round draft pick in April.

After Day 3 at the Senior Bowl, NFL player personnel directors might feel the same way.

According to the Scouts Inc. folks in Mobile, Ala., Odrick really stood out in practice Wednesday. He was mentioned twice on the Day 3 blog, both during individual drills and team drills. Odrick also was included among the top players from the North squad.

Here's what they're saying about Odrick:

  • "Penn State DT Jared Odrick is showing quickness and power in the team period and disrupting the offense."

  • "He looked quick during bag work and is showing a quick first step and getting penetration in 1-on-1 drills."

  • "He was stout against the run today, and his quickness allowed him to get into the backfield all day, and he never quit moving."
