Afternoon roundup: Big Ten tour, more on Penn State

I had always wondered what went on inside the nondescript two-story building near O'Hare Airport that houses the Big Ten Conference offices. Well, I found out today. Along with Big Ten Network anchor Dave Revsine, I made the rounds, learning about the different elements that make up one of the oldest and most important organizations in college athletics.

In addition to interviewing Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany, I met with members from the following departments: governance, compliance, officiating programs, marketing, technology, basketball operations and championships. I also caught up briefly with Mark Rudner, the Big Ten's Associate Commissioner for Television Administration, who, to my excitement, actually reads this blog. I'll chronicle my time at the Big Ten offices throughout the day tomorrow (Thursday), so check back for updates.
