Penn State assistants to remain for now
By ESPN.com staff
Multiple media reports state that Temple has made its decision on a new coach, and he isn't currently employed by Penn State.
Nittany Lions defensive coordinator Tom Bradley and, to a lesser extent, linebackers coach Ron Vanderlinden, both were in the mix for the Temple vacancy but lost out to Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio. Bradley was reportedly a finalist for the position.
Penn State certainly benefits from retaining both Bradley and Vanderlinden, who boast a ton of experience and recruit well.
Still, it's pretty clear both men are looking for opportunities elsewhere in a time of mounting uncertainty for the Penn State program with Joe Paterno's situation. Do they see the writing on the wall in State College?
It will be very interesting to see what happens with Paterno, his assistants and the Nittany Lions during the next few weeks.
