Badgers open up a little flat
By Brian Bennett
Wisconsin has established a high standard early this season.
And judging by that standard, the Badgers have come out looking flat early against South Dakota. Sure, they lead 10-3 in the second quarter, but a lot of people thought this game could get way out of hand quickly with the way Bret Bielema's team usually lights up the scoreboard.
But Wisconsin has had to settle for two field-goal attempts, which is rare for that offense. Kyle French missed a 50-yarder. Meanwhile, the Coyotes are hanging around and just put together a nice drive to inside the Wisconsin 10-yard line.
It's no real surprise that the Badgers might be looking ahead to next week's game against Nebraska. There's no real reason to worry yet, but Wisconsin needs to wake up soon.
