For a while there, you had to wonder if TCF Bank Stadium was built with end zones.
Minnesota and Air Force went nearly three quarters before the Falcons scored the first touchdown in Minnesota's new on-campus facility. But Air Force would get only a field goal from there on out as the Gophers' defense came up big in a crucial 20-13 victory.
Jedd Fisch's new offensive system clearly has taken some time to click, as Adam Weber and Co. are struggling to stretch the field and make big plays. But for the second straight game, the defense bought enough time for the teammates and actually assisted in the scoring, returning a fumble 52 yards to the end zone.
Two pretty solid wins for Tim Brewster's crew before Jahvid Best and Cal comes calling next week.
