Recapping the Big Ten coaching changes

By Adam Rittenberg

The Big Ten had an unprecedented number of coaching changes in the past few months -- 40 to be exact. And that's not even counting support staff members, including strength and conditioning coaches.

Three teams replaced their head coaches, and five others made significant changes in the assistant ranks. Only four programs -- Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern and Minnesota -- return their complete coaching staffs from the 2011 season.

Barring any late changes, the Big Ten coaching carousel stopped spinning when Ohio State and Nebraska both appointed defensive backs coaches earlier this month.

Let's take a quick look at all the changes throughout the league. Again, we probably won't see an offseason like this in the Big Ten any time soon.
