Badgers' Ball out for game with head injury
By Adam Rittenberg
Montee Ball's rough season continued Saturday as the Wisconsin senior running back won't return to the UTEP game after suffering a head injury.
Ball took a hard shot to his head on a 1-yard touchdown plunge in the second quarter. Trainers checked him out after the play and appeared to put him through some concussion tests.
Ball suffered a concussion when he was attacked on the street in downtown Madison this summer.
Ball also had his first career lost fumble in the first quarter of Saturday's game, but appeared to gain some momentum before the injury. Former Wisconsin star running back Ron Dayne was seen consoling Ball on the sideline.
