O'Brien finalist for Maxwell coach award
By Brian Bennett
At this point, it may be easier for us to notify you of all the coaching awards for which Bill O'Brien is not a finalist.
Penn State's coach added to his list of honors today by being named one of three finalist for The Maxwell Football Club Collegiate Coach of the Year Award. The other two finalists are Notre Dame's Brian Kelly and Kansas State's Bill Snyder.
O'Brien has previously been named a finalist for the Eddie Robinson and Liberty Mutual coach of the year awards, along with Ohio State's Urban Meyer.
The Maxwell winner will be announced on Dec. 19, and the award will be presented March 1 in Atlantic City. That wouldn't be a far drive for O'Brien if he were to win.
