Ball, Lewan on Walter Camp first team

By Brian Bennett

The Walter Camp Foundation has been awarding All-America teams longer than any other organization, and last night it unveiled its 123rd team. Five Big Ten players made the first or second team.

Here they are:

First team

Wisconsin RB Montee Ball
Michigan OT Taylor Lewan

Second team

Nebraska OG Spencer Long
Ohio State DE John Simon
Ohio State CB Bradley Roby

Worthy selections, all. I was a little surprised to see Penn State linebacker Michael Mauti not at least make the second team. Walter Camp did not name a punt returner, or else Northwestern's Venric Mark likely would have made it. But I was glad to see the recognition for Roby, whom I thought should have been named the Big Ten defensive back of the year.
