Big Ten in the latest polls

By Brian Bennett

The new Associated Press and USA Today coaches' polls are out, and Michigan State is the big climber in a week where there were few upsets across the nation.

The Spartans moved up six spots in the AP poll and went from unranked to No. 19 in the coaches' poll. That should be good enough to get them into the Top 25 of the BCS rankings when they are released later on tonight.

Here's where the Big Ten stands in the two major polls:

4. Ohio State
18. Michigan State
21. Wisconsin

Receiving votes: Minnesota (31st), Michigan (T-32nd)

4. Ohio State
19. Michigan State
22. Wisconsin

Receiving votes: Minnesota (30th), Michigan (31st), Nebraska (32nd)
