Big Ten in the latest polls
By Adam Rittenberg
Ohio State's struggle for respect continues in the latest rankings, as the Buckeyes fall to No. 4 in the Associated Press poll after a 25-point road win. Hard to understand that one.
The coaches' poll, which is used in the BCS formula, keeps Ohio State at No. 3, barely ahead of Baylor. It will be interesting to see if the Buckeyes retain their spot ahead of Baylor in the BCS standings when it is released tonight.
Elsewhere, Wisconsin is inching closer to the top-14 in the rankings, which could bode well come BCS selection time. The Badgers must be in the top 14 of the final BCS standings to be eligible for at-large selection. They'll face a ranked foe this week in Minnesota, which appears in the coaches' poll but is barely outside the AP rankings.
Michigan State also moves up to No. 13 in both rankings.
Here they are ...
No. 4 Ohio State (last week: 3)
No. 13 Michigan State (LW: 14)
No. 16 Wisconsin (LW: 17)
Receiving votes: Minnesota (26th), Nebraska (31st)
No. 3 Ohio State (LW: 3)
No. 13 Michigan State (LW: 16)
No. 17 Wisconsin (LW: 20)
No. 23 Minnesota (LW: 25)
Receiving votes: Michigan (28th), Nebraska (33rd)
