Opportunities plentiful for MSU assistants
By Chantel Jennings
Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi has gotten his share of national attention recently, as he led the nation’s top defense and was named the Broyles Award winner for assistant coach of the year.
That kind of success draws considerable attention of schools looking for a head coach. Most recently it has been Louisville that seems to be a program which would be in the mix if the assistant were to leave East Lansing.
Spartans coach Mark Dantonio wouldn’t directly address the situation on Tuesday evening before the Michigan State-Ohio State basketball game, where the Rose Bowl champions were honoreed, but he did hint that the success his team has had does bring about some interest.
“When you’re successful everybody is going to have opportunities so when there are good opportunities for your guys you know you want the best for them,” Dantonio said. “So whatever is going to be best for him as we go through this but it’s a win-win situation.”
Dantonio also said that he expects all underclassman players eligible for the NFL to return.
