Big Ten Conference race update

The scenarios for the conference race in the Big Ten are very cut and dry, so we can keep this short and sweet.

The Leaders Division is all wrapped up. Ohio State (11-0, 7-0) has won the division title outright. But since the Buckeyes -- and Penn State -- are ineligible for the Big Ten title game, Wisconsin (7-4, 4-3) will be going to Indianapolis regardless of this week's outcome.

The only real drama is in the Legends Division, but it would take a major upset to create any real suspense. Nebraska (9-2, 6-1) can wrap up the division title and a Big Ten championship game berth by winning on Friday at Iowa. Because the Huskers own the head-to-head tiebreaker, Michigan (8-3, 6-1) would play an essentially meaningless game in terms of the conference race on Saturday at Ohio State unless Iowa wins. Not that Michigan-Ohio State is ever meaningless.

The Wolverines would also officially be considered Legends co-champs if finished tied with Nebraska, though that would probably not be a designation they would celebrate much in Ann Arbor.
