Sources: B's close to re-signing Rask

The Boston Bruins are close to re-signing Tuukka Rask, sources told ESPN.com on Thursday.

Rask becomes a restricted free agent Sunday, and while there’s always the threat of an offer sheet from a rival team, the B’s were going to match anything anyway.

Unless there’s a last-minute hang-up, Rask should be signed before the market even opens Sunday.

It’s an exciting time for Rask, who takes over as Boston’s No. 1 netminder next season. Tim Thomas has decided he might not play next season. But even if he does return to play, the Bruins would likely move him when that time comes.
