In a minor move, the Boston Bruins on Monday signed 6-foot-4, 228-pound center Christian Hanson to a one-year, two-way contract.

The deal is worth $600,000 at the NHL level and $105,000 at the AHL level.

The 26-year-old last played in the NHL in 2010-11, when he appeared in six games with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He signed with the Washington Capitals last July and spent the entire season at the AHL level.

His father is Dave Hanson, who also played professional hockey but is much more widely known for his role as one of the Hanson Brothers in the move Slap Shot.
