Bruins coach Claude Julien called it a “minor injury” and added that McQuaid should be good to go, beginning Friday.
He did not participate in the Bruins’ morning skate Thursday, but was able to skate on his own afterwards for a few minutes.
McQuaid has played 22 games this season (missed two earlier this season due to his grandmother’s death) and has one goal and three assists for four points, including a plus-3 rating and 40 penalty minutes.
During Tuesday’s 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins, McQuaid logged 14:19 of ice time.
Aaron Johnson will play in McQuaid's place.
