WILMINGTON, Mass. -– Bruins defenseman Mark Stuart skated Thursday for the first time since his last game on April 1 against the Florida Panthers at the Garden.

He’s been out since then with an infection in his hand. Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli said during a conference call on Tuesday that Stuart would not be available during the team’s second-round playoff series against the Flyers.

Stuart was on the ice this afternoon at Ristuccia Arena with Boston’s strength and conditioning coach John Whitesides and was not available after his on-ice workout. He missed a total of 23 games due to injury during the regular season.
