BOSTON -- Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid, who has been out since suffering an apparent leg injury Saturday in Boston's 3-1 win over Toronto, was able to work out and ride the stationary bike on Thursday morning, said coach Claude Julien.
Following the morning skate as the Bruins prepare to host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night, Julien said that McQuaid is progressing.
“He’s still day-to-day and I don’t know whether we’re going to take him on the trip. I don’t know what the situation is but we’ll probably know better either this afternoon or tonight,” Julien said.
The team will wait to see how he responds from the workout.
“I didn’t see his whole workout, I just walked in the room after morning skate and he was on the bike, so that’s a good sign for me,” Julien said.
After Thursday's game, the Bruins leave for a three-game road trip through Ottawa (Friday), Carolina (Monday) and the New York Rangers (Tuesday).
