WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Boston Bruins assistant captain Patrice Bergeron just left practice, holding the right side of his head. Originally we had thought it was a shoulder injury, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
During a drill there was a loose puck along the half wall when Bergeron went after it. It appeared the puck came up and hit him the face. He dropped his left glove, grabbed his right side of his face and quickly skated off the ice followed by team trainers.
Bergeron has 19 goals and 25 assists for 44 points in 53 games this season. He has been the offensive spark plug for the Bruins. He's also a plus-22.
In any case, the injury is unclear at this time and we'll have more on this later ...
