Julien not interested in public 'soap opera'

BOSTON -- Bruins coach Claude Julien decided it would be best to give his team the morning off in preparation for tonight’s game against the Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden.

Julien met late Thursday afternoon with the Boston and Montreal media and would not discuss the comments made by his assistant captain, Mark Recchi, in regards to the Canadiens “embellishing” the Max Pacioretty incident.

“We’re here to play hockey. That’s all there is to it,” Julien said. “This 'he said, she said' soap opera, I’m not interested in answering those kinds of questions because two hours from now there’s a big game to be played and it’s two big points for both teams. That’s what my focus is on right now.”
