BOSTON -- The Bruins were 0-for-4 on the power play in their 1-0 loss to Ottawa on Tuesday. The most frustrating power play of the night was probably the last one, which came with 2:11 left in regulation. Even playing 6-on-4 with Tim Thomas pulled, they were unable to tie the game. On Thursday morning head coach Claude Julien was still frustrated over that and said that his team needs to do a better job on the man-advantage starting tonight against the Devils.

“A lot," Julien answered when asked how the power play can improve. "Got to get our shots through, got to get some net-front traffic ... same thing all the time. You got to be able to get in the zone and control the puck and we’ve shown we can do it on certain nights, and other nights it’s not there. But, like I said the other night it’s our whole game for two periods that wasn’t good, and the thing that was probably the most disappointing was that power play at the end. We had an opportunity to at least tie the game and bring it into overtime, and with six players, we couldn’t get any control in the offensive zone so that was disappointing.”

One way the Bruins have always gotten shots through in the past is with captain Zdeno Chara’s rocket from the point and now with the addition of another hard shot in Brian Rolston out there with Chara, the Bruins have two huge weapons on the point.

“I think the biggest thing with that is that he’s got such a big shot that a lot of teams are going to key on him and it will give me more opportunities to shoot the puck,” Rolston said. “Especially if they’re going to key on him and if then if they key on me, he’ll be open for the shot.”

Zanon in

Julien confirmed that newly acquired defenseman Greg Zanon will be in the lineup Thursday against the Devils and Mike Motau will sit. Thursday was an optional skate at TD Garden but expect Zanon to be paired with Adam McQuaid.
