BOSTON -- The Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals both held morning skates in advance of tonight's Game 7 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series, and players on both sides appeared to be relaxed and calm.

When it comes to goaltending, the Bruins will rely on the experience of veteran Tim Thomas, who became the first netminder in NHL history last season to win three Game 7s in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Bruins defenseman Andrew Ference, and the rest of the Boston faithful, are confident with Thomas between the pipes.

“He’s obviously proven himself over and over again,” Ference said. “There’s not much more we can ask for him. He’s got the right approach to these kinds of games.”

The atmosphere should be electric at TD Garden Wednesday night and the Bruins want their fans to be fired up.

“(The fans) expect something from us -– a good, hard game,” Ference said. “We have to provide them something to be excited about.”
