BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Once again the Sabres are taking it to the Bruins in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series at HSBC Arena.

The Sabres have a 2-0 lead after one period. The Bruins registered 12 shots on Buffalo goaltender Ryan Miller, but not many quality chances.

Buffalo could easily have a three-goal advantage if it weren’t for a terrific left-pad save by Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask on the Sabres’ Derek Roy during a power play.

The Bruins are trying to get traffic in front of Miller, but the Sabres are doing a good job of keeping Boston on the perimeter and blocking shots.

The Sabres made their presence known early as Bruins forward Milan Lucic was knocked to the ice four times during his first shift of the game.

In Game 1 on Thursday, the Bruins dominated the second period and will need to do the same today if they are to have any success against the Sabres and Miller.
