Seidenberg, McQuaid still uncertain

By Joe McDonald

WILMINGTON, Mass. -- Bruins defensemen Adam McQuaid and Dennis Seidenberg will travel to Detroit with the team, but their status for Wednesday’s game against the Red Wings remains unclear. Both will participate in the morning skate before being re-evaluated.

“We’ll see where both of them are at that point and make a decision then,” said Bruins coach Claude Julien.

McQuaid has missed the last eight games with a lower-body injury.

“I feel good,” McQuaid said after Tuesday’s practice at Ristuccia Arena. “I’m right there, so we’ll wait and see. I hope to at least put myself in the equation for tomorrow.”

Julien added that McQuaid is closer to returning, but Seidenberg isn’t too far behind. Seidenberg, who suffered his lower-body injury last Tuesday in New York, has been skating since Monday and Tuesday was his first full practice with the team.

“I’m progressing but being cautious,” Seidenberg said. “Today I went a little bit longer, it’s getting better, so that’s a good sign. Hopefully soon. We don’t have a date set, but [Wednesday] I don’t know what the plan is. I’m going on the trip, skate in the morning and we’ll see.”
