Bruins recall four for final game

By Joe McDonald

As expected, the Bruins have recalled forwards Craig Cunningham, Justin Florek, Alexander Khokhlachev and Matt Lindblad from Providence for Boston’s season finale today at New Jersey.

All are expected to be in the lineup against the Devils. Following Saturday’s 4-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres at TD Garden. Bruins coach Claude Julien said reinforcements would be needed since he’s balancing rest, dealing with a few injuries and wants to prevent other injuries as the Bruins prepare for the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron did not play the third period on Saturday with what Julien described as a minor issue. Forward Daniel Paille, who already has missed time this season with two concussions, needed help off the ice in the third period after a big hit. Forward Chris Kelly has been dealing with back spasms and will miss his third consecutive game, but Julien said he’s optimistic Kelly will be ready for the playoffs.

Before Sunday's game, Julien told reporters that Paille was "doing great" and was day-to-day going forward. Julien also termed Kelly day-to-day and said Bergeron is fine.

Cunningham, 23, has played one game for the Bruins this season. He’s played in 73 games for the P-Bruins this season with 25 goals and 22 assists for 47 points.

Florek, 23, has played three games for the Bruins this season, posting one goal and one assist. He has 19 goals and 19 assists for 38 points, including a plus-17 rating in 69 games this season for the P-Bruins.

Lindblad, 23, has played in one game for the Bruins this season. He has eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points in 53 games for the P-Bruins this season.

Khokhlachev, 20, has played 63 games for Providence this season, recording 21 goals and 36 assists for 57 points.
