Julien sets new playoff mark as B's coach
By Joe McDonald
BOSTON -- Tom Johnson was the last Boston Bruins coach to win a Stanley Cup in 1972.
Current Bruins bench boss Claude Julien wants his name etched onto hockey’s holy grail, too.
The Bruins’ 5-2 victory in Game 6 was Julien's 32nd playoff win in Boston, passing Don Cherry for the most career postseason victories by a Bruins coach. Cherry was behind the bench when Boston lost in the Cup finals to the Montreal Canadiens in back-to-back seasons (1976-77 and 1977-78).
