Turco pulled from start, returns in 2nd
By James Murphy
Marty Turco made his first start with the Bruins but was replaced by Tim Thomas only 4:31 into the first period after allowing three goals on six shots.
Thomas allowed two goals on five shots, and Turco was back in net 3:06 into the second period with Tampa Bay leading, 5-0.
Turco had replaced Thomas in the Bruins' 5-2 loss at Pittsburgh on Sunday after the Bruins fell behind 3-0. But Tuesday, on a night when Turco was supposed to give Thomas some rest, the roles were reversed.
There was some good news for the Bruins as Patrice Bergeron (lower body) and Daniel Paille (upper body) both played. Bergeron had been injured Sunday blocking a shot, while Paille had missed the last five games.
Prior to the game, the Bruins sent forward Lane MacDermid to Providence.
