The middle of last week, Celtics forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis had both a bulky cast and pins removed from his surgically-repaired right thumb. He's been fitted with a new soft cast and is expected to wear that for an additional two weeks before regaining full and unencumbered use of his dominant shooting hand.

Davis, who has been sidelined since fracturing his thumb in an off-court incident two days before the start of the 2009-10 season, hasn't offered a timetable for his return. He did appear at the Maine Red Claws' win over the host Springfield Armor Saturday, providing a glimpse of the new cast, while catching Celtics teammate Bill Walker in action with Boston's D-League affiliate.
