Garnett named the best in the East

Kevin Garnett's efforts in helping the Celtics finish a perfect four-game road trip were acknowledged by the NBA Monday as he was named the Eastern Conference's player of the week.

Garnett led the Celtics to a 3-0 week, averaging 19.7 points on .706 shooting from the field, 7.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists. He capped the week by scoring 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting in a 105-87 win over Oklahoma City.

Garnett also had 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists against San Antonio, and 16 points, 7 boards and 5 assists against the Bobcats.
