BOSTON -- Celtics coach Doc Rivers said the team recalled rookie guard Lester Hudson from the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League Sunday to add a 12th body to the active roster.

Hudson appeared in three games for Maine, totaling 49 points. After a flashy 25-point debut, Hudson labored through 3 of 14 shooting with seven points and five assists in Saturday's loss to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Hudson managed to navigate through the weather woes back to Boston in time to dress for Sunday's game against the Timberwolves. He appeared on court before the game, resuming his 1-on-1 battles with Rajon Rondo.

"I think playing helps, obviously, it has to help some," said Rivers. "It's better than not playing."
