The Celtics recalled forward Bill Walker from the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League on Wednesday.

Walker appeared in nine games for Maine, averaging a team-best 17.4 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. In his last outing, Walker erupted for a season-high 33 points on 14-of-17 shooting.

Walker's return adds depth at the forward position should Kevin Garnett's right thigh bruise sideline him for any additional period of time.

(Update: The Celtics confirmed that Walker did not travel with the team to Orlando, but is expected to join them shortly, after it was revealed Paul Pierce would miss the four-game road trip.)
