Guard Rajon Rondo is the only Celtics player mentioned in contention on the always enjoyable ESPN.com NBA Awards Watch.

TrueHoop Network's Matt Moore pegs Rondo as the No. 4 candidate in the Defensive Player of the Year watch, writing: "I end up getting confused and having to rewatch Celtics plays a lot because I think Rondo is in two places at once. Then I watch it and realize, no, it just seems like it because he's pretty much everywhere, all the time."

Rondo is slated behind Charlotte's Gerald Wallace, Orlando's Dwight Howard, and Atlanta's Josh Smith (and one slot ahead of Cleveland's LeBron James).

Rondo, who missed Saturday's game against Toronto as he nurses a sore left hamstring, leads the NBA with 2.7 steals per game.
