Instant reaction following the Boston Celtics' 114-107 triumph over the Toronto Raptors Sunday afternoon at the Air Canada Centre:
How the game was won: Celtics guard Rajon Rondo posted a triple-double (22 points, 13 assists, 10 rebounds), while forward Rasheed Wallace poured in 29 points -- his biggest offensive outburst since Jan. 31, 2004 as a member of the Portland Trail Blazers. Starters Paul Pierce, Kendrick Perkins and Ray Allen all chipped in 16 points for Boston.
Turning point: Up eight early in the third quarter, the Celtics embarked on a lightning-fast 7-0 run with Wallace burying a 3-pointer as Boston's lead ballooned to 68-53 with 8:55 to play. The spurt took less than a minute and gave Boston a comfortable cushion.
Stat of the game: The Celtics shot a blistering 42.3 percent from 3-point land, connecting on 11 of 26 attempts. Wallace paced the effort by making 5 of 7 from beyond the arc.
Unsung hero: Starting a grueling stretch of four games in five nights (and three cities), the Celtics got at least 34 minutes from each of their starters, including a team-high 44 from Rondo and 42 from Allen.
What it means: The Celtics bounced back nicely from Friday's loss in Atlanta, kicking off this rigorous stretch with a solid win north of the border. There's no rest for the weary as Monday brings a rematch with the Hawks at TD Garden. The Celtics, thin with injuries and illness, will need every healthy body to step up to stay afloat this week.
*(Note, we're doing this a bit blind with our focus on the Patriots-Ravens playoff game this afternoon.)
