This week's Celtics Mailbag has been delivered. Thanks to those who sent in questions. Please keep them coming throughout the season.
Of course, the mailbag is already brimming again this afternoon with questions like this:
Q: Nate Robinson!?!?!?!? -- Lucky the Leprechaun (Boston)
A: Rumors swirled Wednesday from a New York Daily News article, in which a person with "close ties" to Celtics coach Doc Rivers said there was an interest from Rivers in coaching Robinson. This after former Celtics beat writer Marc Spears, now with Yahoo! Sports, suggested on Boston radio recently that the Celtics had made a trade offer to the Knicks for Robinson.
By midday Wednesday, there were unsubstantiated claims of a deal that would send Eddie House and Bill Walker to the Knicks for Robinson, this despite the fact that the trade didn't even work in ESPN's Trade Machine.
The Boston Herald's Mark Murphy spoke with Rivers Wednesday afternoon and the coach said, "I’ve been amazed that when a name pops up how much it can catch on with people. I just want to get the team that we actually have here together.”
It's surely the first of many rumors that will crop up before the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 18.
