Maybe it won't be so hard for the Boston Celtics to find a role for Michael Finley after all.

Guard Tony Allen sat out Friday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers with a hip injury sustained in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's lopsided win over the Charlotte Bobcats. The injury does not appear too serious as Allen traveled to Philadelphia and was present on the bench for the start of the game.

Allen missed time at the start of the season with an ankle injury after aggravating an existing injury in the preseason.

Finley, the veteran swingman who agreed to a deal with the Celtics Thursday, is expected to join the team Saturday and, should Allen be sidelined for Sunday's game against the Washington Wizards, could fill Allen's role off the bench.
