The Celtics assigned rookie Marcus Landry to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League Saturday.

Landry, a 6-foot-7 forward acquired with Nate Robinson in a five-player swap with the New York Knicks at this year's trade deadline, appeared in one game, logging three minutes against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Feb. 25. Robinson averaged 2.4 points and 1.1 rebounds in 18 total appearances with the Celtics and Knicks.

The move is an opportunity to get Landry some minutes, which were about to grow harder to come by with the impending addition of veteran swingman Michael Finley, who could be in uniform as early as Sunday's game against the Washington Wizards.

Landry is the team's fourth assignment this season with the previous three players no longer with the team in Lester Hudson, J.R. Giddens, and Bill Walker.
