... Where the Heat used to be really hard up for retired numbers. So much in fact that they retired the jerseys of Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino and Bulls guard Michael Jordan. Wait, Michael Jordan?
After 15 years without a jersey to retire, Pat Riley spearheaded a movement to retire Jordan's No. 23, which Miami did on April 11, 2003. Said Riley at the time: "In honor of your greatness and for all you've done for the game of basketball -- and not just the NBA, but for all the fans around the world -- we want to honor you tonight and hang your jersey, No. 23, from the rafters."
Fortunately for the Heat (and the dignity of their fans), the team found a couple shirts -- and one championship banner -- of their own to hang up since then.
