Dick Raphael/NBAE/Getty ImagesLarry Bird found time to go fishing during Boston's rookie camp in 1979.For the next week or so, the plan will be to check in when able (typically an early morning post or a nightly wrap-up of the day's top headlines), but we'll certainly ramp up the activity should there be any breaking news around the team.
This brief pause allows us to reflect for a moment on how far the site has come in a short time. While there's still plenty of room for growth, we do want to thank everyone that's made ESPN Boston a stop on their internet travels for Celtics coverage. Consider the comments section of this post your chance to offer feedback on anything you'd like to see more of in this space moving forward (and on the site in general). You can also ship your thoughts to the Mailbag (which will resume next week).
A quick rundown on Wednesday's headlines:
- Celtics guard Rajon Rondo missed Wednesday's Team USA practice in New York due to the death of an uncle. He is expected to rejoin the national team Thursday. Hop HERE to read more from ESPN.com's Chris Sheridan.
- Our friends at CelticsHub.com pointed out Shaquille O'Neal's fun Q&A with the New York Times. Highlights include this exchange... Q: When was the last time you panicked? A: 1981... And Shaq's explanation doesn't disappoint.
- The Houston Rockets moved one of their surplus of swingmen Wednesday as part of a four-team, five-player trade that included former Celtics forward James Posey. The Rockets got Courtney Lee in return, showing that it takes more than cap space to move talent right now, which is part of the reason Boston didn't find any takers for Rasheed Wallace's contract.
- ESPN.com's NBA Summer Forecast continued Wednesday with a look at candidates for Rookie of the Year (the Wizards' John Wall easily outdistanced the Clippers' Blake Griffin in the writer projection).
