Celtics rookie center Semih Erden scored seven of his 10 points in the final quarter to help host Turkey top Puerto Rico, 79-77, Wednesday at the 2010 FIBA World Championships.

With Turkey clinging to a one-point lead entering the fourth quarter, Erden went to work, hitting a pair of bunnies and a trio of free throws as his national team opened a double-digit lead with three minutes to go and hung on from there.

Erden also chipped in six rebounds (three at both ends of the court) and a block. He didn't commit a turnover in 19 minutes off the bench.

Turkey improved to 4-0, remaining Group C's only undefeated squad, and guaranteed itself the top spot in the pool. Turkey wraps group play Thursday against China (1-3). The Round of 8 quarterfinals begins Saturday.
