AP PhotoTurkey's Semih Erden goes up for a dunk against France.
Celtics rookie Semih Erden turned in a quiet afternoon, with 5 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist in 18 minutes off the bench, but host Turkey topped France, 95-77, in Round of 16 action at the 2010 FIBA World Championships.

Erden connected on two of the three shots he attempted, but was quiet on the stat sheet, particularly on the glass.

With the win, Turkey now jousts with Slovenia on Wednesday in Istanbul. Slovenia is a 3-point happy squad, connecting on 16 of 33 triples in an 87-58 triumph over Australia Sunday.

Through six games at the tournament, Erden is averaging 9.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He was coming off his biggest effort, 18 points and 12 rebounds in a lopsided win over China to wrap up group play.
