Celtics rookie Semih Erden registered six points, five rebounds, and three assists as host Turkey thrashed Slovenia, 95-68, Wednesday in the 2010 FIBA World Championships in Istanbul.

Erden connected on 2 of 5 shots from the floor and 2 of 5 free-throw attempts over 21 minutes off the bench. He was a bit sloppy overall, taking away from some nice dishes in the early going, and committed a team-high three turnovers on the day.

Through seven games, Erden is averaging 9.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in a reserve role.

Turkey advances to the tournament semifinals, where it will meet Serbia on Saturday. Serbia upset Spain, 92-89, in Wednesday's other action. A win Saturday ensures Turkey a spot in the finals and a medal; A loss sends them to the bronze-medal consolation game.
